Microsoft releases overview for Windows Phone 8.1 enterprise security

A lot of the tech news today swirls around Windows Phone 8.1, but there is a lot more to it than just the cool feature updates. The release is also geared towards business, which is one place where Microsoft is a major player, and where it hopes to get its mobile platform instituted as well.

With that in mind, the company has released a downloadable overview of the enterprise security features included in this new mobile release.

“From highly secure identity features, such as Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) with virtual smart cards and PINs to its defense-in-depth, multilayered approach that addresses organizational security requirements in numerous ways, Windows Phone 8.1 is designed with security in mind. Explore these features in more detail and learn why, because Windows Phone 8.1 shares many of the same underlying components, including those related to security, as Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2 operating systems, it offers predictability, reliability, and commonality in how Windows Phone 8.1 devices can be used and managed in an enterprise environment”, says Microsoft Rob Margel.

You can download the file by following the link below. It comes as a 25 page PDF document and will be of interest to IT departments, presenting the updated OS in great detail.
