A quick and minor update snuck in over the weekend for the Node.js Tools for Visual Studio (NTVS) settling into the version to 1.2. This version, as with others, is focused on increasing a developer’s productivity with basic upgrades to current tools already available.

  • Faster, better ES6 IntelliSense
  • More reliable debugging
  • Improved Performance
  • Improved Unit Testing Experiences

Overall, the small update to the plug-in improved a lot of stability and performance issues, including reducing the out-of-memory crashes that many users were experiencing beforehand.

Visual Studio (NTVS) is an open source project that is available on the GitHub repository. The update is compatible with VS Community 2015, VS 2015 Express for the Web, and VS 2015 Professional or above. The update doesn’t apply for Visual Studio Express for Windows.
