Microsoft has just released new firmware updates for the Surface Go and its LTE variant. In addition to the stability enhancements, the new bits should improve the Smart Charging reliability, a feature that helps reduce battery deterioration.
Moreover, there are several refinements for the camera experience, as Microsoft has included new updates in this batch to resolve various issues. If you are using a Surface Go/LTE device with Windows 10 version 1903 or newer, you will see the following updates:
- Surface UEFI – Firmware: 1.1.18.0 *Improves battery Smart Charging reliability, and addresses security updates.

Just as a reminder, firmware updates for Surface devices are released in stages, which means that not everyone gets them on day one. It could take a while until it shows up on your PC, so don’t worry if you’re not getting these updates on your Surface Go yet.
