Microsoft releases new firmware updates for Surface Book 3 and Surface Laptop 3

Microsoft has released a slew of firmware updates for its Intel-powered Surface Laptop 3 and Surface Book 3 devices (via WindowsBlogItalia). The latest batch brings overall system stability improvements and also addresses various issues.

For Surface Book 3 owners, the June 2021 firmware updates aim to enhance the WiFi and Bluetooth connection reliability and address a few critical security vulnerabilities. You can check out the full list of changes below:

  • Surface ME – Firmware: 13.0.1763.5 Addresses critical security vulnerability and improves system stability.
  • Intel(R) Management Engine Interface – System: 2102.100.0.1044 Addresses critical security vulnerability and improves system stability.
  • Intel(R) ICLS Client – Software devices: 1.62.321.1 Addresses critical security vulnerability and improves system stability.
  • Intel(R) Wi-Fi 6 AX201 160MHz – Network adapters: 22.40.0.7 Improves Wi-Fi connection reliability.
  • Intel(R) Wireless Bluetooth – Bluetooth: 22.40.0.2 Improves BT connection reliability.
  • Surface Integration Service Device – System devices: 6.119.139.0 Improves integration between system services and improves system stability.
  • Surface UEFI – Firmware: 10.104.140.0 Addresses critical security vulnerability and improves system stability.

In addition, Microsoft is also rolling out a set of firmware updates for Surface Laptop 3 models running Intel processors. These bits include the same Wi-Fi and Bluetooth updates and resolve an issue within the Microsoft Teams app. You can check out the changelog below:

The June 2021 firmware updates for the Surface Book 3 and Surface Laptop 3 started rolling out on June 14, but the lists of changes were only added yesterday. As usual, it’s possible that you won’t see these bits in Windows Update right away, since they tend to roll out gradually to all devices.
