Microsoft has just released new firmware updates for the Surface Go and its LTE variant (via Windows Central). First of all, the Surface UEFI version 1.0.19.0 has been released for both devices, and Microsoft says that it should resolve potential security vulnerabilities, including Microsoft security advisory 190013.

If you have the LTE variant of the Surface Go, you can also download the version 1.5.5.0 of “Generic IO & Memory Access – System devices,” which also resolves potential security vulnerabilities and includes the same Microsoft security advisory 190013 mentioned right above.

As usual, these firmware updates are rolling out gradually, so don’t worry if you’re not seeing them immediately in Wndows Update. The Surface Go will celebrate its first anniversary in August, and the LTE variant was released a couple months later in November. It remains the most affordable Surface ever a year later, but its entry-level Pentium Gold CPU may start to show its age in 2019. It’s not clear if we’ll see a Surface Go 2 this year, but Microsoft is expected to hold a Surface event later this Fall.
