Microsoft releases January firmware updates for Surface Duo and Surface Duo 2

January firmware updates for both the Surface Duo and Surface Duo 2 are now live. Both are fairly small releases as they mainly focus on security fixes and add no new features. Here’s everything you need to know:

According to Microsoft both updates:

As always, you can grab this firmware update by going to your system settings. Usually, updates should not take longer than 5 minutes. So, get downloading now to ensure your device is well-protected against all the latest security threats! In other related news, we saw the Surface Duo 2 entry ran out of stock. Microsoft had previously highlighted that the shortage of components was the main cause of this shortage.
