Now that the Xbox One October 2018 is out, Microsoft has revealed today that the gaming console will get a new system update in November. Indeed, the first Xbox One 1811 build is now rolling out to Xbox Insiders on the Preview Alpha ring, bringing search improvements as well as some bug fixes.
Search in the Xbox Guide now includes more sources, including digital games that are ready to be installed or titles included in Xbox Game Pass, or EA Access. Microsoft will also be testing some experimental features with select Insiders, though the company didn’t share details today.
The main new feature coming with the Xbox One 1811 update will be Mouse and Keyboard support, and Microsoft says that this will be enabled “in the coming weeks.” Warframe will be the first Xbox One game to support it, and once Microsoft is done with all the platform work, it will be up to developers to decide if they want to support mouse and keyboard input in their games (it won’t be enabled for existing Xbox One games).
You can expect to hear more about more games supporting mouse and keyboard input during Microsoft’s XO18 event on November 10. The company may also use this event to share more about the “19H1” update for the Xbox One. The first “19H1” preview builds have already shipped to Xbox Insiders on the Skip Ahead ring, but for now, these builds didn’t bring any new features to the table.
