Among the firmware update, there appears to be several other updates for Windows RT. It should be no surprise that these updates are available, as Microsoft mentioned it was going to issue the very first security updates for Windows 8 and Windows RT during November’s Patch Tuesday, which is already under way. November Patch Tuesday will feature six patches which will address 19 vulnerabilities in Windows, Internet Explorer, and .NET Framework. Three of these patches will be for Windows 8 and Windows RT. Four of the six updates are rated Critical and address 13 vulnerabilities in Windows 8, Windows RT, and Windows Server 2012. So head over to Windows Update on your Surface RT and install the 8 available updates.
