We recently reported on the presence of Cortana on Android. A leaked Cortana for Android application package (APK) hit the internet recently, and eager testers, developers, and journalists have begun running it on their nearby Android devices. Early hands-on show that Cortana runs well on Android, and we expect to see a slew of video demos and screenshot posts that reaffirm the claims.

Just a few days ago a Forum Moderator and Support Engineer at Microsoft reached out via the Microsoft Community page, to solicit help in the official beta of Cortana for Android. vIn her post, Anannya Podder discusses the Beta program details of Cortana for Android:

“In the spirit of the Windows Insider Program, we are looking for a limited number of people to get their hands on an early version of the app. It’s important to keep in mind that is the first public release of the Cortana for Android beta. And that for now, Cortana for Android is only available in the U.S. and China. Over the coming months, we’ll continue to deliver frequent updates to the app to expand the features and functionality.”

For folks interested in getting their hands on the official Microsoft APK, Podder points to a short survey that, once completed will grant limited access to downloadable links. The download links will start arriving via email over the coming weeks, to those who have been given access to the beta program of Cortana for Android.
