In an email to Office 365 Home subscribers in India, Microsoft has shared that the annual price of the Office 365 Home subscription will change from ₹4,619 ($66) to ₹5,299 ($76). The last price hike was announced in December 2016.
The price is effective January 8, 2019 for subscriptions purchased directly from Microsoft. Your subscription will reflect the new price beginning with your next payment after January 8. Note that there’s an additional 18% GST charged above the price of the subscription and the tax componenet remains unchanged.
Office 365 Home allows you to share your Office 365 subscription with up to 6 people for use on multople deivces – PCs/Macs, tablets, and phones – along with 1TB OneDrive cloud storage per person.
According to Microsft, the company periodically assesses its pricing to ensure reasonable alignment with the needs of customers, partners, and the marketplace. Of course, the current high dollor-to-rupee conversion rate has a bearing on the same.
