Evan Boyle a Software Engineer at Azure Search, has taken to the official Microsoft Azure blog to announce that Microsoft has placed Azure Search blob and table indexer portal support into a preview.

This support means that Office documents, HTML,  PDF, and many other documents are now searchable from the Import Data Wizard.  Seen above, the support comes in the form of a simple user interface which is designed to help users pick and choose accounts and containers from within a subscription. Ultimately, though, the blob indexer can detect metadata fields, suggest indexes, and open all documents and extract text into the content field.

For the complete directions on how to use Azure Search blob and table indexer portal, head over to these official Microsoft webpages for indexing table and blob storage and Azure Search in the Portal.
