Xbox Game Pass

Microsoft has issued a rare out-of-band update for Windows 10. This expedited update is for Windows 10 20H1, 20H2, and 21H1, and fixes issues where attempting to install a Xbox Game Pass game might redirect to the Microsoft Store page for gaming services.

As always, to get this fix on your PC, all you need to do is visit Windows Update run a check for the latest updates, and then select view optional updates. From there, look for KB5004476 in the list and select Download and Install. Microsoft says that if you’re not having any issues with Xbox Game Pass titles, then there is no need to download this out-of-band update.

If you’re still not finding this out-of-band update automatically in Windows Update, you can download it through the Microsoft Update Catalogue. This involves a manual install process. More information and directions on how to download this can be seen on Microsoft’s support page for this issue.
