Microsoft has announced that it is opening new cloud regions in the country of Switzerland. The company not only now offers Azure services to enterprises in the country thanks to these new regions, but also Office 365, Dynamics 365, and Power Platform.
The new data centers are located in Zurich and Geneva, allowing those in both the west area as well as those further up north to choose the best location for them. The company already has multiple organizations signed up for the new services, including UBS Group which signed an agreement in December of last year.
Microsoft has been providing services to Switzerland for about 30 years now, according to the Azure blog. However now organizations will also be able to take advantage of the new data residency, allowing them to keep their confidential information much more locally.
