Microsoft offers Lumia 520 for $29 without contract – onmsft.com

Lumia 520

\

Windows Phone, though a competitive offering, has struggled to break through at the high end of the global smartphone market. Despite this however, through a slew of slick budget offerings the tide is beginning to turn in the operating system’s favor at the lower end of the market. In a whirlwind of cheap, often slow, Android devices, Windows Phone is a compelling alternative to the norm for many, the Lumia 520 being one particularly significant example, as it is one of the best-selling Lumia devices of all time.

\

Though it is now a little long in the tooth, Microsoft has once again made it a very compelling option, provided that you live in the USA. The Lumia 520 has seen a no-contract price drop from $59 on the Microsoft store website, or on ATT, to a mere $29, taking their pricing to a completely different level of crazy, even below the price of many feature phones on the market.

\

As a gift for a friend, a first phone for the parents, an emergency phone for a night out or as a means to keep in touch with your other lover, there’s really no reason not to pick up a 520, long may the price wars continue!
