New Skype for web experience goes live for everyone, support still limited to Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge

The new Skype for Web experience is now officially live for everyone, dropping the preview tag. The new experience brings a number of enhancements and new features, such as HD video calling, call recording, and more. It is only available on Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge.

Microsoft reveals new Xbox One console inspired by Oreo cookies

Microsoft has created an Oreo-inspired Xbox One X and controller for a competition on Twitter. Available in the United States, D.C, and Puerto Rico, gamers have the chance to win the Oreo-inspired console, which will not be available for sale.

KC Lemson, who started the Ninjacat meme, steps away from Microsoft

The original creator of the Ninjacat meme is stepping away from Microsoft to focus on “not working”, family life. In a post on LinkedIn, Lemson said:

I’ve decided it’s time for me to try something new: not working. Or to rephrase it in the standard corporate lingo: I’ll be on an extended leave of absence for the foreseeable future, during which time I will be pursuing some personal projects and spending more time with my family. I’ll still be in the GAL and on email occasionally, but I’ll be focusing on the non-Microsoft part of my life after this week.

Microsoft cuts 200 from commercial sales team as move to the cloud continues

It is believed that Microsoft is preparing to axe 200 jobs in its commercial sales team, as part of its continuing reorganisation. It comes as Microsoft continues to focus on the cloud.
