Microsoft Lumia 535 launches in India, priced at Rs 9,199

\

At a press event earlier today, Microsoft launched the budget-friendly Lumia 535 in India. The handset is the first device from the software giant to come with the new Microsoft branding on board. The handset will hit retail from November 28th, and will carry a Rs. 9,199 ($148) price tag — it’s a very attractive price considering what the handset has to offer.

\

Lumia 535 carries some traits of its little sibling, the Lumia 530, but it’s way better in most ways. There’s a bigger 5-inch display with an improved resolution of 540 by 960 pixels with a pixel density of 230 ppi. The processing power comes from a quad-core Snapdragon 200 SoC paired with 1GB of RAM compared to 512MB in the Lumia 530, 8GB of internal storage and microSD card slot for extra storage.

\

The handset also features a 5MP front-facing camera, a 5MP rear camera for photos and videos, dual-SIM support, 1,905 mAh battery and runs Windows Phone 8.1 with Lumia Denim out of the box. Lumia 535 will be available in Cyan, Bright Green, Bright Orange, White, Dark Grey, and Black colors.

\

We’ll update you as soon as the handset is available in more global markets.
