To commemorate the first Xbox sale to ever be made to Japanese fans 20 years ago, Microsoft is officially launching Xbox Wire in Japan. The main goal of this move is to expand their reach when it comes to Xbox news and announcements made on the platform.

Last year, Xbox Cloud Gaming was also launched in Japan with the aim of bringing Xbox games to the massive population that is into gaming.  Japan is considered to be one of the “fastest-growing markets” for Xbox worldwide, which is why the launch of a Japanese Xbox Wire seems to be strategic. Not forgetting that the Xbox Series X|S and Xbox Cloud Gaming with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate recently touched base in Japan.

“We are so excited to bring the joy and community of gaming to so many more fans, journalists, and content creators, who will now be able to keep up to date with first-hand news and articles in Japanese about our consoles, services, and content – including Xbox Series X, Xbox Game Pass for console and PC, Xbox Cloud Gaming and everything related to the Xbox Game Studios and partner studios,” said Jeremy Hinton, Xbox Asia Director.

Microsoft had previously given indications that it was planning to get into the Japanese gaming market. That said, Xbox fans will now get the latest news updates at their doorstep.
