Microsoft launches Office Web Apps for SkyDrive, comes with touch support – onmsft.com

In an official Office Next blog post, Microsoft announced that it was launching Office Web Apps for SkyDrive, which basically allows a SkyDrive user to utilize Office Web Apps when you create or click on a Word, Excel, PowerPoint or OneNote document within SkyDrive.

Office Web Apps for SkyDrive comes with improved authoring, which allow you to create more professional looking documents. Microsoft has also implemented many top customer requests into Office Web Apps for SkyDrive. On top of that, Microsoft added touch support. “While the Office Web Apps technically worked on touch devices, they were difficult to use without a mouse and keyboard. With the latest update we have worked to uphold our ‘Anywhere Access’ promise by providing a great experience on the devices you love,” Microsoft explains. Office Web Apps for SkyDrive also supports co-authoring as well as a commenting feature to Word and PowerPoint. Best of all, each app is fast and responsive.
