If you’re an Xbox One gamer, you may want to check out your inbox on Xbox Live today. It seems that Microsoft is randomly giving away $5 gift cards to select gamers to help them kick off their holiday shopping.
Reddit user Blackout797 shared a screenshot of the message he received from the Xbox team, and several people in the thread noticed the same one in their Xbox Live inbox :
Looks like Microsoft is giving out $5 gift cards to selected users. Check your messages to see if you’re lucky.

It’s not clear if this is US-only, but it looks like you don’t need to spend a ton every year on the Xbox Store to receive this $5 gift card. Even if it could be completely random, free money is nothing to sneeze at. We have yet to receive such a message on our end, so we’d love to know if some of you were lucky enough to receive a gift card from Microsoft. If you did, please let us know in the comments below.
