Microsoft has announced that a new advertising format, called versaTiles, is now available for Outlook.com, Microsoft’s new email service which was officially launched in February of this year. versaTiles features flexible sized tile strips that showcase advertisements.

\

versaTiles is based on flexible sized tile strips that offer brands the opportunity to ‘engage in deep storytelling’ and are build with the same modern design principles that Outlook.com is based on. Microsoft wants these ads to ‘enrich’ your mail experience, rather than ‘deter from it.’

\

versaTiles features a strip that consists of four or five tiles that sit along the right side of the Outlook.com page. Microsoft is looking to deliver an innovative and rich advertisement experience for advertisers to ‘tell their brand stories’ on Outlook.com, which providing the best experience for those who actually use Outlook.com.

\

Microsoft is still offering an ad-free version of Outlook.com for $19.95 a year. However, Microsoft has no specified if this new deal with versaTiles will change that ad-free deal.

\

This new advertising format is currently being sold in Brazil and the United States, with availability in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Spain, and the UK coming soon. Check out the video demonstration below and hit the source link to check it out, if you are interested in advertising on Outlook.com.
