Microsoft Ignite Confrence Will Have In-Person Option

All of Microsoft’s typical developer and IT or partner events have been digital-only since April of 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but that’s about to change. In a FAQ for the upcoming Ignite IT conference running from October 12-14, Microsoft has detailed that there will be an in-person option, though space might be limited (via The Verge.)

Ignite will be held in Microsoft’s own hometown of Seattle, at the Seattle Convention Center. As in years past, Microsoft says those who attend in person will have “smaller interactive” in-person learning and connection opportunities with technology leaders, influencers, and more. It’s unclear, though, what the vaccination social distancing or mask policy will be.

There’s still a digital option as well, and it will be free. The cost of the in-person event will also depend on the event experience you choose, and Microsoft will be sharing more details in late August about this. There will be “limited passes” for the in-person activities.

In addition to the central Seattle location, Microsoft is also planning spotlights in France, Germany, Japan, Latin America, and the UK in multiple countries. The spotlight will discuss the news and announcements from the Keynote and Core Themes, along with market-specific discussions.

You can sign up now for updates on Ignite registration. Microsoft will open registration for both in-person and digital attendance in late August 2022. The company also recommends registering as soon as possible and prior to October 12, 2022.
