For those of you who live near Union Square in New York City, mark this date on your calendars! Microsoft is scheduled to hold a special Surface Pro launch event at a Busy Buy retail store in Union Square on February 8th around midnight. Microsoft will also be holding a private event for selected guests prior to holding the formal launch party around midnight.

The man in charge of the Surface team, Panos Panay will be on deck during the event, as well as members of the Windows team, considering this is a major launch for the software giant. Microsoft is expected to launch Surface with Windows 8 Pro on February 9th. Pricing will start at $899 and will be available in 64GB and 128GB versions. Also, a Surface Pen will be included with the Surface Pro, which allows you to draw with your device! You can read a list of full specs for the device here.
