Microsoft has hired a new President for the company’s North America Sales and Marketing role. In an official press release today, Microsoft revealed that the software giant has hired Oracle’s Judson Althoff to be the man in charge of sales and marketing in the good ol’ USA.

As the President of North American Sales and Marketing, Althoff will manage a team of sales, marketing, and services professionals across the United States and Canada. This group is primarily responsible for Microsoft earnings. In fact, this group managed to earn Microsoft a whopping $73 billion dollars during the fiscal year 2013.

“Judson has a track record of successfully developing, growing and leading global sales organizations with a culture of execution excellence. Judson’s proven leadership will enable us to continue to excel in delivering the best devices and services experience to our customers including businesses and consumers, Microsoft Chief Operating Officer Kevin Turner stated in an official press release.

Althoff was previously the Senior Vice President, Worldwide Alliances and Channels, reporting to Oracle President Mark Hurd. Althoff spent 14 years at Oracle. Althoff will begin his new role at Microsoft beginning Friday, March 29th and will report directly to Microsoft Chief Operating Officer Kevin Turner.
