Microsoft films 'live action trailer' for upcoming Xbox One exclusive Sunset Overdrive

\

Sunset Overdrive, the upcoming open world, third-person shooter game will hit Xbox One on October 28th as an exclusive title for the platform. Microsoft and Insomniac Games have been filming a live action trailer to promote the game and it gives you an idea of how messy things can get behind the scenes.

\

“Some of you may have heard that Insomniac Games and Xbox have been filming a live action trailer to promote the upcoming Xbox One exclusive, Sunset Overdrive. Over the past several months, the team put together an extensive production crew, drafted an array of storyboards and scripts, and created realistic costumes, props and backdrops to replicate the colorful scenery from the game,” Microsoft stated in an official blog post.

\

The goal of the live action trailer was to bring the humorous and over-the-top elements of Sunset Overdrive to life. The trailer is intended to show you the game’s unconventional weapons, mutants, and satire, all while showing you how crazy and insane the game would be if it was real-life.

\

Sunset Overdrive borrows elements from games like Prince of Persia, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater, Jet Set Radio, and other games to create the “awesomepocalypse.” The game is fast paced and allows you to customize your character from a plethora of body parts and clothing items. You can even craft weapons and tools using the Amps system, with recipes scattered throughout the city. One of the weapons is called a “TN-Teddy,” which straps teddy bears to sticks of dynamite!

\

You can watch the trailer below (NSFW due to language). The game hits Xbox One on October 28th.
