The Microsoft Edge app updated to Version 42.6.3 on Apple’s iOS devices today with quite a few new features.
In addition to the expected ambiguous “performance improvements,” this updated added widget functionality for the Today screen, the ability to open the browser from the lock screen with new Siri shortcuts, and new quick actions when pressing and holding the icons across the lower bar of the app.
The Today screen widgets are particularly cool as users can now access their Microsoft Edge Top Sites (i.e. their most visited websites) and Edge Quick Actions just by swiping right on their iOS device’s screen.
To add these Edge widgets, simply swipe right on the screen to open the Today screen, tap on Edit, and then tap on the green + symbol next to the Microsoft Edge widgets you want to add.
