Microsoft has quietly shipped a new update for the Microsoft Edge Insider beta channel yesterday. The company has yet to share release notes for the new beta build 79.0.309.47, but as the beta channel gets serviced every six weeks, it should be the last update before the Chromium-based browser’s stable release in January.

You’ll notice that Favorites Sync is still supported in this version. Microsoft has recently turned it off on the Dev and Canary to allow the Edge team to fix the ongoing data duplication issues, and we hope the feature will be ready for the stable release next month.
Looks like they are also prepping #EdgeBeta for all the sync updates as well. Don't forget – the Beta Channel, which gets updates about every six weeks, is also the Release Candidate channel for general availability targeting January. #EdgeInsiders pic.twitter.com/56Zrckdhdz

If the Edge Beta channel is still on the version 79 of the Chromium open-source project, the Dev and Canary channels have already moved on to the version 80. Earlier this week, Microsoft also turned on the new Collections by default on the Dev and Canary channels.
Thanks Richard Hay for keeping an eye on new Edge Insider builds!
