Microsoft Edge Canary now lets users open bookmarks folder in a tab group – onmsft.com

Microsoft Edge will soon be getting a new update that will let users open all bookmarks of a folder in a new tab group. The feature is now live for Edge Insiders in the latest Microsoft Edge Canary builds (version 94.0.978.0 or higher), as noted by Reddit user Leopeva64-2.

The Redmond giant started testing the tab groups feature for its Edge browser last year that helps to improve tab management by allowing users to organize similar tabs into groups. Microsoft is now planning to improve this feature by bringing the ability to open all bookmarked links saved in a particular folder as a tab group at once.

If you’re an Edge Insider, you will need to right-click the bookmarks folder and then choose the “Open all (links) in a new tab group” option. Once clicked, you will see a prompt on the screen that provides an option to change the name and color label of the tab group.

Another new feature that is coming to Microsoft Edge is the ability to restore tab groups after restarting the browser. As of today, it’s not possible to reopen the tabs that were previously sorted in a group, but the latest Edge Canary update now provides an option to restore recently opened tab groups from the history menu with a single click.

Both these features were spotted in Google Chrome’s Canary builds earlier this month, and it’s great to see the new Edge browser finally catching up. These enhancements could be useful for some Edge users who like to maintain various bookmark collections. In case you missed it, Microsoft Edge is also introducing a feature that should make it easier to save webpages as PDFs.
