Microsoft Defender ATP for Android

Microsoft Defender ATP for Android, an antivirus tool that offers protection against phishing and unsafe network connections from websites, and malicious apps, is now available to download via Google Play Store (via Android Police). The app is currently in preview, and it’s only aimed at businesses with a valid Microsoft 365 E5 license.

Microsoft Defender ATP comes with many security features, including malware scanning, scanning of APK files, blocking malicious websites, and more. The company also noted that the app features integration with Microsoft Defender ATP, and it helps to block malicious background connections from apps on Android devices.

“The ability to restrict access to corporate data from devices that are deemed “risky” will enable enterprises to secure users and data on their Android devices. All events and alerts will be available through a single pane of glass in the Microsoft Defender Security Center, giving security teams a centralized view of threats on Android devices along with other platforms. These capabilities empower enterprises to enable strong security while ensuring their employees remain productive working on their Android devices,” the company explained.
