A new report has appeared online today suggesting that Microsoft is planning to finish up Windows 8 development in the summer and launch on tablets, laptops and desktops sometime in October. This is yet to be confirmed by Microsoft, so take what you read with a grain of salt.

A new report from Bloomberg states that Microsoft is planning to finish up Windows 8 by the summer, and launch on computers in October of this year. Bloombergs’ sources come from “people with knowledge of the schedule.”

Launchig Windows 8 in October would fall in place with what Microsoft said back at CES, October this year will bring the 3 year anniversary of Windows 7, the perfect time to release a new operating system. Microsoft aims at releasing a new operating system evey three years to keep up with the market.

Remember to take this rumour with a grain of salt, as it hasn’t been confirmed by Microsoft. It is a high possibility that Windows 8 will launch in October, as that does mark the three year cycle of Windows releases. What do you think?
