Microsoft is at CES 2015 showing off its Surface NFL tablet used by pro football players and coaches

Back in 2013, Microsoft decided to pull out of the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) keynote and show floor. Ever since then, Microsoft has had a minor presence at the show, holding private meetings at the show or showing off the latest technologies behind closed doors.

CES 2015 is under way right now, and to kick things off, Microsoft is showing off its Surface NFL tablet that’s being used by professional football players and coaches on the sidelines. Spotted by Geekwire, Microsoft has a small booth set up at the CES Unveiled press event, featuring mostly startups who are demonstrating their new products.

At the booth, one can go hands on with the rugged Surface Pro 2 device, which is used by players and coaches thanks to a five year $400 million contract with the NFL. The Surface Pro 2 replaces traditional paper black-and-white printed images of plays and makes things ten times more efficient while on the sidelines.
