Ever since this year began, Microsoft has been injecting AI capabilities across its services and products. Its latest addition brings Copilot to SharePoint and OneDrive. This change has shipped alongside a refreshed OneDrive experience and improvements across Microsoft Lists, Stream, and security and compliance updates.

With Copilot making its way to SharePoint, Microsoft cites that the addition will help users transform their existing content into “stunning SharePoint pages.” Microsoft further added that:

Copilot in SharePoint helps turn your words into powerful tools for creating and editing SharePoint sites and pages. It’s built on the Copilot System, which combines the power of large language models with your data in Microsoft Graph. And all within our existing commitments to data security and privacy in the enterprise.

As such, users can leverage the tool’s capabilities to transform their presentations or existing documents into a page that features the best web design visuals of SharePoint. Additionally, the user can leverage its capabilities to rewrite key passages of text on the page, thus allowing the user to incorporate the right tone that will resonate with the targeted audience.

Microsoft has also indicated that it will be expanding the aesthetic capabilities of SharePoint. This will help users create more engaging content that’s appealing. What’s more, SharePoint features a new brand center where users can interact and use fonts, colors, logos, and more that closely align with what your organization stands for.

Microsoft Stream

Microsoft has also redesigned the Microsoft Stream video playback experience. Video content has been amplified as it is more visible. The web app player also ships with transcripts, captions, chapters, sharing, background noise suppression, variable speed playback, and analytics. The goal behind these two enhancements is to help users get the most out of video content while simultaneously reducing production time.

The Microsoft Stream web part has also been upgraded and it now features single and multiple videos on SharePoint pages, that is, folders, and playlists. Users will also be able to create professional video content whether it’s from SharePoint or Microsoft Stream using the new video-focused page templates.

Microsoft Lists

As for Microsoft Lists, Microsoft has updated the smart information tracking app in Microsoft 365 to be faster, smarter, and easier to use making it easier for users to collect and track information. The company has also debuted new forms that are designed for better information collection, enhanced overall performance as well as better packaging solutions.

Microsoft has also mapped out the new features and improvements expected to ship to SharePoint throughout the year. You can check it out below:
