Just recently, Microsoft revealed that it would be rolling out updates to several of the built-in apps for Windows 8, such as Bing, SkyDrive, News, Photos, Sports, Maps, Mail, Calendar, People, and Messaging. Now, several of these apps are now ready to be updated!

Games, Music, Video, Weather, Finance, and Travel apps have yet to be updated. At the time of this post, only the following apps are ready to be updated via the Windows Store: Bing, SkyDrive, News, Photos, Sports, Maps, Mail, Calendar, People, and Messaging. “Leading up to GA for Windows 8, we will be releasing updates for many of the apps that were included with the release to manufacturing (RTM) build of Windows 8 that was delivered to PC makers and to MSDN and TechNet subscribers in August. The Store tile will notify you when updates are available, and you can open it and click the updates link in the top right corner to see the list and install the ones you want,” Microsoft stated in an official blog post. Expect to see the remainder of these built-in apps to be updated by October 26th.
