Microsoft Authenticator app updates on iOS with new security alert feature

The official Microsoft Authenticator app has updated on iOS devices to Version 5.9.0. This new update adds a rather interesting security feature that will now notify users of suspicious logins to their Microsoft account via an iOS device notification.

This addition makes Microsoft Authenticator more than a simply login tool and a more of an overall Microsoft account security app. You can read the full, though short, release notes below.

For personal Microsoft accounts, you’ll start receiving notifications about suspicious sign-ins or other activity on your account. This is part of our effort to provide the best protection for your account and keep you updated.

Do you use Microsoft Authenticator on your iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad? Is this new feature something you’ll use? Let us know what you think in the comments below and then follow us on Pinterest for more Microsoft app news and content.
