Microsoft unveiled its Surface Pro 3 tablet back in May, which is expected to hit retail shelves across the globe in August. If you happen to be a United Arab Emirates (UAE) resident waiting for the tablet to hit shelves, there’s a piece of good news for you. The pre-orders of the tablet will kick off in mid-June for corporate customers via authorized resellers Alpha Data and Mideast Data Systems. There’s no word about the pre-orders for the non-corporate customers, but we’re expecting it may start a few weeks before the official availability date of August.

There are no details about the pricing plans it will follow, but Microsoft said it will be in line with the international pricing. In the US, the base model of the Surface Pro 3 retails for $799, which is almost equal to 2,930 AED. If what Microsoft is saying turns out to be true, we may see the tablet hit the retail shelves with a price tag around 3,000 AED.

“Today’s announcement that Surface Pro 3 is now available in the UAE for commercial customers serves as the next step of our journey to empower organizations to do more,” said Samer Abu Ltaif, Microsoft Gulf’s regional general manager. “I am confident that Surface Pro 3, the tablet that can replace a user’s laptop, has the requirements to support the increasing mobility that UAE businesses require today.”

Surface Pro 3 comes with a 12-inch display sporting a resolution of 2160 x 1440 pixels, with fourth generation Intel Core processors and up to 8GB of RAM on board. Users could get up to 512GB internal storage, with Windows 8.1 as its operating system. There’s an adjustable kickstand as well which supports several angles so that you can use it conveniently. The company claims the battery can provide up to nine hours of time. There’s a 5MP camera on front and back of the device as well.
