Every year, Microsoft holds the Store App Awards to recognize apps on the Microsoft Store that have displayed “excellence in their user experience, design, quality, and most of all, customer value.” Back in March, the company announced that nominations for the event were open and invited users to get their favorite apps on the platforms to be featured in the award ceremony,
Shortly after, Microsoft closed the nomination window and transitioned to the voting phase which was open to all Microsoft Store on Windows customers on Windows 10 and 11. As you might recall, Microsoft split the nominees into five different categories, that is, Utilities & Tools, Productivity, Audio & Video, Creativity, and Personalization. And here are the winners for each one of these categories:
- Utilities & Tools Category – Torrex
- Productivity Category – Mozilla Firefox
- Audio & Video – VLC
- Creativity – Sketchable+
- Personalization – Lively Wallpaper
Aside from the winners highlighted above, Microsoft also handpicked the finest apps in the same categories, and was as follows:
- Creativity – Descript
- Entertainment – Amazon Prime Video
- Productivity – Concepts
- Best Integration with Windows – WhatsApp
- Special Recognition – Ava Accessibility
The company further added that:
These apps were examined and chosen based on their user experience, exceptional design, innovation, creativity, overall quality, as well as the value they bring to its customers.
