Microsoft announces Build live streaming, Windows Phone gets unofficial conference app

Microsoft’s annual Build conference (or “//build/” if you prefer) kicks off this Wednesday, April 2nd, at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. WinBeta earlier talked about what everyone should expect to see during the three day run of the conference. However, you can keep even better tabs on the happenings through both official and unofficial methods.

“For those that don’t know Build, this is the major event that Microsoft is celebrating for and with Developers Worldwide, an event where you can find out what’s new in Windows, Windows Phone, Azure, and other technologies”, states the company’s own description.

We will begin with the official feed — Microsoft announces it plans to live stream the event using both its own video network, Channel 9, as well as via the Build website. The company doesn’t detail which of the events will be included in the feed, but given the number of sessions, it seems likely to be just the important keynotes.

Meanwhile, an unofficial Windows Phone app has been released, also designed to help you keep up with the happenings from the city by the bay. The app is mainly geared towards attendees, but the curious can still check out the sessions and who is speaking. It’s free from the Windows Phone Store, and you can grab it from the download link below.

Build runs April 2-4 and we can expect lots of information to be conveyed in that short period of time. Let us know what you are most hopeful to see by chiming in with a comment below.
