Azure

In many lines of business, having total control over the inflow and outflow of data is essential to maintaining security. As such, having the means to do this quickly and easily is of particular interest to many.

Enter Azure ExpressRoute, which provides users with dedicated network connectivity via a connection from their personal, private network, in order to access Azure. Microsoft has announced that this service is to be extended to Office 365 users, providing them with the same functionality that is present with its Azure service. Essentially, it allows avoidance of the public internet, and the issues inherent in its design.

In addition to making security a little easier for those who need it, this will also allow significantly more control over the movement of data, meaning that this will most likely be of great appeal to particular consumers in the enterprise space. This dedicated connectivity will also have the added effect of ensuring that any connection will be far more stable, and dependable. As the cloud becomes more and more important to the business community at large, this is one more small but significant step to increasing trust in its capabilities.

Azure ExpressRoute is currently available for Azure users, and is expected to be rolled out to Office 365 users in Q3 2015. For more information regarding this service, including pricing, head here.
