Regular exercise is an important aspect for any healthy lifestyle, and Microsoft is committed to helping you stay healthy by providing excellent health-based software and hardware products. Now, in collaboration with popular fitness app RunKeeper, the two companies are offering some great rewards for getting/staying fit.

Now that marathon season is fast approaching, Microsoft and RunKeeper are challenging runners to run (or walk) a total of 26.2 miles (42.2 km) by the 30th of April in order to be eligible to win one of ten Microsoft Bands. Those who complete 26.2 miles by the given time period will be entered into a random drawing for winners to be picked, which appears to be US-only.

All you have to do is opt-in to the challenge using the RunKeeper app on your iOS or Android device and start covering the distance. You don’t have to complete all 26.2 miles in one session. Winners will get a Microsoft Band, which to remind you, comes equipped with ten sensors to monitor everything for calorie burn to sleep quality. It would be an excellent fitness companion, especially now that personal assistant-turned fitness coach Cortana is on-board.

It’s a win-win situation, you stay healthy, and you get rewarded for it. You have just over a month to complete the challenge, and that’s plenty of time. Be sure to read the terms and conditions if you’ll be participating and let us know if you’ll be accepting the challenge over at the comments section below.
