Microsoft Admits More Needs To Be Done In Order To Beat PS4’s Early Sales Lead Over Xbox One – onmsft.com

Microsoft admits more needs to be done in order to beat PS4's early sales lead over Xbox One

Sony’s PlayStation 4 (PS4) may be the top-selling console for third straight month, but that doesn’t mean the next-generation console war is over. Not by a long shot. In fact, Microsoft’s head of Xbox, Phil Spencer, admits that more needs to be done in order for the Xbox One to beat the PS4.

“Definitely in to win,” Spencer said on Twitter. “We need to do more, that’s 100% of my focus.” Spencer’s primary responsibility at Microsoft is running Xbox, Xbox Live, and Microsoft Studios. Spencer has stated in the past that the Xbox One is focused on appealing to the core gamer. Microsoft has big plans for the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in June and we’re expecting to see more than just hype from the company.

Sony’s PS4 has sold more than 7 million consoles to date, while Microsoft has indicated that they have only shipped more than 5 million Xbox One consoles. That’s shipped, not sold. Microsoft has yet to reveal how many consoles have been sold and we might get a chance to see the figures once the company’s earnings report is released next week.

@Crypt0ll7 @jermaine611 Definitely in to win. We need to do more, that’s 100% of my focus.

@ChaseReuter Thanks but in the end not about who’s leading, it’s about the games and the product, that’s where we need to continue to focus.
