Marvel’s Midnight Suns video game is now live on Xbox consoles

After a couple of delays, Marvels’ Midnight Suns is finally out on Marvel’s Xbox Series X family of consoles. The release of the Xbox One version has still yet to be officially locked in.

Midnight Suns is a darker take on the Marvel Comics world and characters compared to most of the other titles based on the mega-popular franchise. Instead of focusing on light-hearted superheroics, Midnight Suns focuses on the darker supernatural corner of Marvel Comics and shines the spotlight on characters such as Robbie Reyes’ Ghost Rider, Blade, Magik, Scarlet Witch, and Nico Minoru.

Spider-man, Wolverine, Iron-Man, and Captain America are also playable but they seem to have been added to help Midnight Suns appeal to a wider audience and don’t appear to be the primary focus. Captain Marvel is also in the game though her addition was likely done in an attempt to keep the character at the front of fans’ minds ahead of Disney’s The Marvels movie which is due in theaters mid-2023.

The Midnight Suns season pass will unlock a variety of post-launch content including the Storm, Morbius, Deadpool, and Venom characters and 23 cosmetic skins for the entire roster of heroes.

Midnight Suns is available in an Enhanced Edition which comes with five skins, the Digital+ Edition which comes with the first five skins and six more, and the Legendary Edition which includes Season Pass which features the 11 bonus skins from the other two editions plus 12 more skins and the previously mentioned four additional characters.
