We are very close to the launch of Madden 15 — a game that is synonymous with with the kickoff of the NFL football season. August 26th is the big day, and customers will not have to wait long either, as the title goes on sale at 12:01am.

While the whole thing can be purchased and downloaded to the Xbox One, there is still something to be said for launch events and waiting in line for the latest and greatest game. That fact isn’t lost on Microsoft, as the company has events planned for it’s stores, which are steadily becoming more numerous.

The events will take place in 60 stores spread across the US, Canada and Puerto Rico. “Sign up for local challenges or watch the best in your area compete from Aug. 26 through Sept. 5. To find out more about tournaments check with your local store”, claims Xbox Live’s Larry Hryb.

There’s more as well — all of those 60 stores will host a Madden-themed NFL kickoff party on September 6th. Events include game-play, giveaways and the chance to have your face used in a photo of the box cover of the new title.

Hryb also points out a new deal — “You can also trade in your Xbox 360 or PS3 and receive $100 towards your purchase”. No specifics are given, so it is presumably towards any buying needs you may have, be it Xbox One, games, or perhaps even a Surface.

Now the only question left is, are you ready for some football?
