Lumia Camera app begins testing new design and features

After the release of the Beta version of its Lumia Camera Windows Phone app last week, Microsoft has revealed several details on the different features they’re using the app to test. In general, the app’s purpose is to test functionality on Windows Phones running Windows Phone 8.1 but those in the Windows Insider program with Lumia 640 or Lumia 1520 phones are also given access to a few exclusive features.

The features being tested include an updated design, selfie stick support for pictures and videos, and a simplified way to select output resolutions. In our original post about this new beta app, we discussed several improvements we’d like to see with the Lumia Camera app such as an overall app speed increase, a streamlined user interface and a merging of several different apps into the main one. A common complaint is the absence of some of the app’s features on several Windows Phone devices and the actual processing of the photos themselves.

What would you like to see change with the Lumia Camera app? Let us know in the comments below.
