Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 on AT&T blessed with the Nokia Lumia Black update

Nokia Lumia 920

Nokia has kept its word, and is slowly rolling out the highly anticipated Lumia Black update for a bunch of handsets. The update started with the Nokia Lumia 1020 and Lumia 925, and made its way to the Lumia 920, 820, 625 and 520 — all country variants. If you’re residing in the States, rocking a Nokia Lumia 920 or a Lumia 820 tied to AT&T, there’s a piece of good news for you. The Lumia Black update is rolling out for both handsets, and it shouldn’t take long for the magical notification to pop up on your screen.

This latest update brings a handful of features to the handset, including a driving mode that restricts notifications while on the road, screen orientation lock, improved WiFi sharing, custom ringtones for messages and calls, glance screen, several Nokia Lumia apps (Storyteller, Beamer, etc.), improved multi-tasking and app switcher to easily let users switch between applications and close them, improved storage management, and more.

The update is rolling out as we speak, and it might take a little while to reach every AT&T-bound Nokia Lumia 920/Lumia 820 in the U.S. If you’re impatient, you can manually check for the update by navigating to Settings >> Phone Update >> Check for updates. It should start the download process after a little while. To check if it’s available in your region, Nokia has set up a software support page where you can check the status of the update for your region and carrier.

If you already received the update, we’d love to hear about your first impressions and reviews about the Lumia Black using the comments below.
