The Lumia 635 replaces the Lumia 521 on T-Mobile and MetroPCS

This month, T-Mobile and MetroPCS in the US will begin stocking the new Nokia Lumia 635 as an alternative to the best-selling Lumia 521 and a newer option for those looking for the latest and greatest when it comes to Microsoft’s Windows Phone platform. Packed with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 CPU, 512MB of RAM, a 4.5-inch screen, and a 5MP autofocus shooter at the back, the Lumia 635 is a respectable upgrade over the 521. More so with Windows Phone 8.1 and Cortana pre-installed, and support for 4G LTE.

“The Lumia 635’s advanced features, functionality and design – combined with its amazing price point – make this an absolutely screaming deal. And, once again, the Un-carrier is first out of the gate, offering up the Lumia 635 weeks before the other guys through both T-Mobile and MetroPCS,” Said T-Mobile Senior Vice President of Marketing, Jason Young.

You’ll be able to get your hands on the device on T-Mobile starting July 5th on the Home Shopping Network and from the carriers’ website come July 9th, then at T-Mobile stores across the country on July 16th. It will be available free on a 2-year contract. MetroPCS will begin offering the device from select stores on July 18th for a promotional $99 off-contract.

“We are thrilled to partner with T-Mobile to bring the Lumia 635 to the U.S. market and to T-Mobile customers for the first time,” said Matt Rothschild, Head of North America Sales, Microsoft Mobile Devices. “With high-end features, hundreds of thousands of apps available through the Windows Store plus the latest Windows Phone 8.1 experience and Cortana, the Lumia 635 is undoubtedly one of the best affordable smartphone available today.”
