Lenovo unveils 14-inch and 15.6-inch 1080p FLEX 2 laptops, powered by Windows 8.1

Lenovo has announced two new FLEX 2 laptops that can be used in two different modes – a laptop mode and a stand mode. Both devices are powered by Windows 8.1, come in a 14-inch size or a 15.6-inch size, and feature a 300 degree rotation capability.

Both devices come with 10-finger multi-touch 1080p widescreen displays, and feature an optional blacklit keyboard. These models are available in a variety of configurations, including up to a 4th generation Core i7 CPU, Nvidia GeForce graphics or up to AMD A8 APU CPU and Radeon R5 M230 graphics.

You can also choose up to 1TB of hard drive or hybrid SSHD storage, or up to 256GB of SSD storage. The speakers feature Dolby Advanced Audio v2 technology and both devices come with optional dual array digital microphone. There is also a 720p webcam.

“The new FLEX 2 gives consumers two great devices – a full-function, multi-touch laptop and a second, Stand mode – in one machine all at an extremely affordable price,” said Dilip Bhatia, vice president, worldwide marketing and design, PC Group, Lenovo. “New features like a crystal clear high resolution screen and the latest processing technologies make it even more suited to helping express and manage consumer’s digital lives.”

The FLEX 2 starts at $429 in the United States and will be available in June.
