ThinkPad 10

Lenovo has announced a new tablet with Windows 8.1 as its operating system, ready to take on Microsoft’s very own Surface Pro 2 tablet line up. The tablet provides users with a full Windows experience and enhances productivity since it comes with the full-fledged Windows 8.1, rather than Windows RT which has had its fair share of drawbacks. It’s not just the Surface line up, the tablet looks good enough to give iPad a run for its money as well.

“Customers want a versatile device that adapts to their way of life and offers uncompromised productivity whether in the office or on the move,” said Luis Hernandez, vice president and general manager, ThinkPad, Lenovo. “Our new ThinkPad 10 tablet marries business optimized features with a unique multimode design to offer an exceptional computing experience that allows users to work, play and create in virtually any environment. ThinkPad 10 is engineered for quality you can touch and measure and is designed to adapt to be what you need, when you need it.”

The tablet rocks a 10-inch display sporting a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels, and is powered by the Bay Trail Intel chipset. It also comes with 4GB of RAM, 128GB storage, and a digitizer pen for enhanced productivity, especially for business users. The company claims it can provide up to 10 hours of battery life, and also offer 3G/4G LTE connectivity to provide data access on the go. It provides users with four different viewing modes:  Tablet, Stand, Laptop, and Desktop.

Lenovo has also introduced a ThinkPad Tablet Dock which give users the ability to connect to an external display, mouse, or a keyboard for improved workflow. On the rear, it features an 8MP camera for photos and videos, as well as a 2MP front-facing camera.

\

As far as the pricing is concerned, ThinkPad 10 starts at $599 and will be available at select retailers sometime in June.
