Lego’s venture into the realm of video games really got off the ground with the first Lego Star Wars, so it’s only fitting that the newest blockbuster in the sci-fi franchise, Star Wars also gets the playing block treatment. After some leaks not too long ago, there is finally some concrete information regarding the release of the game, in the form of  an appearance on the Xbox Store page and a new trailer, and from what we’ve seen of LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Star Wars has never looked better in LEGO.

The trailer is a lighthearted parody of the original Star Wars trailer (fitting since the game is a parody of the movie itself), sprinkling trademark LEGO humor into key moments. Characters from both sides, from main protagonists Rey and Finn, to beloved droid BB-8 and even gloomy Kylo Ren gets to be their ditzy blocky LEGO figure self, while being caught up in various funny situations.

As the third Star Wars-themed title in the LEGO game franchise after many different themed games based on popular media , the game incorporates all the goodness from previous LEGO titles, while adding some new mechanics in the form of Multi-Builds and Blaster Battle. Multi-Builds grants player the ability to build objects from LEGO parts, and break them up to build new objects. Blaster Battle will reportedly add cover-shooter-like gameplay to heated exchanges, though there is no information on what it will look like.

LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens looks set to be another fine addition to the popular LEGO video game franchise, and a worthy parody of its original masterpiece. The game will also get some exclusive content to bridge the story of Episode VI and VII, which should make it even more of an essential buy for Star Wars fans. The game will be releasing on June 28, 2016 on Xbox, with prices coming soon.
