Latest Visual Studio preview for Mac brings new C# editor, support for multiple instances

Microsoft has released this week the Preview 3 release of Visual Studio 2019 for Mac. This new preview version of the IDE brings major new features including the ability to run multiple instances of the app, as well as a new C# Editor.

The new editor is based on all the work that Microsoft has done on the Windows version of Visual Studio, but with a native interface for the Mac. This new text editor only supports C# files in this release, and it’s also disabled by default. To turn it on, you’ll have to open the Preferences Menu and go to Text Editor > General.

Other new features in this release include Xamarin improvements for developers of Android apps, as well as debugging improvements for Unity developers, and the full release notes are available on this page. Visual Studio 2019 for Mac Preview 3 is available to download from this link.
