Microsoft has some cool plans for its Kinect motion sensor hardware. Starting October 8th, Kinect for Windows will be coming to China. On top of that, Kinect for Windows runtime and SDK will see an update on October 8th and brings support for Windows 8 desktop applications.

Starting October 8th, we can see Kinect for Windows in China. Countries like Chile, Colombia, the Czech Republic, Greece, Hungary, and Poland will see the hardware later this fall. Also taking place on October 8th is an update to the Kinect for Windows runtime and SDK. This update will feature an expanded sensor data access, β€œto continue to inspire innovative uses of the Kinect for Windows technology in new and different places,” as Microsoft puts it. Aside from more samples being released, Kinect for Windows will also have support for Windows 8 desktop applications, Microsoft .NET 4.5, and Microsoft Visual Studio 2012. Kinect for Windows will be available in 38 markets by the end of this year.
