IObit Driver Booster pledges permanent Windows XP support

Windows XP currently lives on borrowed time, as the aging operating system will cease mainstream support on April 8th. I say mainstream because, while Windows updates will come to an end, the company does promise continued Security Essential updates for an additional year. That really should not fool any user into sticking with the platform, but we already know that some will, including companies.

Now IOBit is announcing that it will pledge permanent support through its Diver Booster program. This is an app that automates the process of finding outdated drivers ad updating them. “IObit the expert in system utility and optimization, today is expected to announce that their popular driver updating tool Driver Booster will continue support for Windows XP after Microsoft shuts it down in April 2014. The recent released Driver Booster v1.3 is improved to provide better services for Windows XP users to get the right and latest drivers to enhance the system stability, PC performance, or even system security.”, the company states in an emailed announcement received by WinBeta.

Driver Booster is a free utility, and you can grab it by following the download link posted below. Please do not mistake this as a reason to stick with Windows XP — it’s not. There are ways to continue running the OS safely after April 8th, but you’ll really need to bend over backwards and be careful to pull it off. This is one more option to help, but the advice remains to move along to a modern system.
